Friend's of the New BEAT Matt Larkin and Ian Van Den Hurk approached us in early 2008 with a dark-comedy script entitled Stand-Off. New BEAT members Jamie and Gurjeet (known as Bassi & McMahon in the film world) directed this 30 minute short-film, while Geoff took part as a production designer and Rose as colourist. The film's screening date is yet to be announced but check back here for details!

SYNOPSIS
Gibbs Wideman III had it all - money, power, and a corner office in the finance sector. But all that changed when he was caught cheating his way to the top. Now jobless, Gibbs must now do the only sensible thing any self-respecting man would: compete against children in the lemonade stand business. As he quickly learns, however, the suburbs are just as cutthroat as Wall Street. Selling lemonade is anything but child's play, and Gibbs must apply every trick he's learned to reach the top of the ladder again.
